The Coconut
Multiverse Series

A framework for understanding the coconut palm as a regenerative platform crop and the investment opportunity it represents.

The Coconut Multiverse is a four-paper series developed by Haigan Murray, founder of the Coconut Knowledge Center. It presents a new way to think about the coconut palm, not as a single commodity crop, but as a platform for multiple interconnected industries across food, energy, climate, and materials.

CKC shares this series as part of its mission to inform the sector and the capital that it needs to evolve.

One Crop.
Many Industries.

The coconut palm produces over 85 distinct product streams across eight industry sectors. Every part of the tree: the fruit, the husk, the shell, the trunk, the sap, becomes a feedstock for something else. The Coconut Multiverse framework organises these into modular business units called Regen Nodes, each with its own capital requirements, return profile, and market access.

At the centre is the Alpha Module: the regenerative engine that powers the whole system from seedling production, agroforestry design, soil restoration, and carbon services. Each module can be developed independently, in clusters, or as a unified platform investment.

A Coconut Multiverse: Overview

Introduces the core concept of the coconut palm as a platform crop, a single biological asset that supports multiple modular industries. Explains why the Multiverse framing matters for investors, governments, and farmers.

Derivative Product Map for Modular Business Units

Maps over 85 product streams and eight Regen Nodes emerging from a single coconut palm. Introduces the Alpha Module as the regenerative engine at the heart of the system.

Regenerative Alpha: The Coconut Palm as a Platform Crop

Introduces the concept of Regenerative Alpha: long-term investment returns derived from regenerating ecological, social, and economic systems simultaneously. Details the supply-side crisis and why it creates a strategic window now.

Generating Regenerative Alpha: The Coconut Multiverse Fund of Funds

Presents the fund architecture designed to deploy capital across the full Coconut Multiverse. Compares coconut palm investment directly against palm oil across IRR, CAPEX, ESG risk, and product diversity.
